Businesses have greatly influenced our society today. The conveniences we are enjoying now are certainly brought about by works of businesses. Because of the by-products and advancements that businesses have pursued in areas of technology, communication, transportation, food industry and medical services, our lives had been made simpler, easier and more convenient.

Communications with family, friends and business associates have been greatly improved with technologically-advanced cell-phone and internet communications systems. Information in the form of news is relayed instantaneously all over the world now with real-time sharing and broadcasting. Transportation has been made faster, medical diagnoses and treatments have been greatly improved and acquisition of food has been made so much easier.

Life it would seem in our society today is shrouded with digital buttons and high-tech gadgets wherever we go. Although this high-technological impact that businesses have created is commendable, nevertheless, it creates a negative impact on the human workforce. The main purpose or role of businesses as we have come to know is the generation of jobs for the people in the society. But with the proliferation of technologically-advanced systems, computers and gadgets, the labor workforce is quickly being replaced. This causes a loss of job for many employees in factory plants and even offices.

Business has been said to propel the economy of the nation. With this understanding, we can also say that they can also cause the economy to shift in a downward position. When a huge corporate organization suffers a collapse, the society to which it is connected like its shareholders, employees, creditors and stakeholders are all affected. When financial institutions fail, sometimes it is not only the economy of one nation that is affected. Globally, there is a domino effect that can be felt.

Business also has a great impact on the environment to which society lives in. Some inventions are deemed hazardous to the various creatures living in our surroundings. Habitats of animals and plants are disturbed and are being replaced by skyscrapers, factories and commercial buildings. The by-products of businesses that made their way to become part of our daily lives can contribute significantly in polluting our environment. Smokes emitted from cars and factories contribute to air pollution. The chopping of trees for of quality chairs in the furniture industry has denuded our forests. The constant production and evolution of cell phones has generated a brand-new type of hazardous e-waste.
When we really think hard about it, the impact of businesses can neither be said to be positive nor negative. In every convenience that we experience, there are definite ramifications that accompany it. No matter what, one thing is absolutely certain. Businesses have a profound effect in the society that we are today.
